| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, with her characteristic elaborate wavy coiffure arranged in ridged waves and drawn back into a bun at the nape. The empress is depicted with finely rendered drapery at the shoulder. The Greek legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΑΥΓΟΥϹΤΑ encircles the bust. The style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period. |
