Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Nero facing right, with light drapery visible on the left shoulder and a sceptre held before the bust, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Cnossian colonial coinage. The portrait displays the emperor's youthful features with short, wavy hair arranged in the Julio-Claudian manner. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, naming the emperor along with the duovirs Lupinus and Volumnius responsible for the issue. The field is flat and unadorned, typical of Cretan provincial bronze coinage of the Neronian period.
