| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, with characteristic short curly beard and hair rendered in the Antonine style. The portrait is executed in moderate relief typical of provincial bronze coinage of the Roman colony at Corinth. The legend, largely illegible on this specimen due to heavy wear and encrustation, would have carried the emperor's imperial titles in Latin. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial production of the period. |
