Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, with characteristic beard and curly hair rendered in the Antonine style. The imperial effigy displays the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Corinthian mint. The circumferential legend runs around the bust. The die work is typical of Achaean provincial issues of the Antonine period, with moderate relief.

Reverse description A nude male Athlete strides to the left in the field, holding a race-torch in one hand and a palm-branch in the other, emblematic of the Isthmian Games celebrated at Corinth. To the right, the infant Melikertes-Palaimon reclines upon a dolphin facing left, a mythological reference to the legendary foundation of the Isthmian Games. Behind the figures rises a pine tree, the sacred tree of the Isthmian sanctuary. The composition reflects Corinth's prominent role as host of the Isthmian Games and its local religious traditions. The colonial legend appears in the field.
