Obverse description Draped and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius, laureate, with long beard, facing right and seen from the rear, presented in the characteristic provincial style of Ionian civic coinage. The obverse legend, rendered in Greek majuscules, encircles the bust and identifies the emperor by his Antonine nomenclature.

Reverse description Standing figure of Artemis Pythie facing left, wearing a kalathos upon her head, extending a patera in one hand and holding a bow and arrow in the other; a stag stands to her left in the field behind her. The composition reflects the prominent civic cult of Artemis at Miletus and is executed in the conventional style of eastern provincial bronzes. The reverse legend, in Greek majuscules, names the local magistrate Themistokles and the issuing city of Miletus.
