Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal perspective, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy displays youthful features characteristic of Gordian III's portraiture, surmounted by a laurel wreath denoting his divine and military authority. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, partly visible despite surface wear. The die work reflects the provincial civic style of Bithynian mints under the Severan-era tradition, with moderate relief typical of Nicomedian issues.
