| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic Severan-era three-quarter perspective. The emperor's youthful effigy is rendered with paludamentum folds visible at the shoulder and segmented cuirass detailing. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust in the field, reading clockwise from the upper left. The overall style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage struck under the Conventus of Apamea in Phrygia during the reign of Gordian III. |

| Reverse description | Tetrastyle temple depicted in elevation, its four columns rising without an architrave, enclosing a cult statue of Zeus seated left upon a throne, holding a patera in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left. The pediment of the temple occasionally features a wreath as a decorative element. The civic ethnic legend ΒΡΟΥΖΗΝΩΝ is inscribed prominently in the field or exergue, identifying the issuing city of Bruzus. The architectural rendering is typical of the Phrygian provincial coinage tradition, emphasizing the city's principal sanctuary. |
