Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing left, presented as seen from the front, conveying a three-quarter perspective. The radiate crown, composed of pointed rays, is clearly rendered atop the imperial effigy. The paludamentum (military cloak) is fastened at the shoulder, and the cuirass is visible beneath. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΑΥΤΟΚ Κ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and the coin shows a characteristic green patina consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the period.
