| Reverse description | Central reverse type depicting two tall flaming torches set upright, each entwined by a serpent rising along the shaft; between the two torches stands a lighted altar with flames rising from its top. The composition is strongly associated with chthonic and healing cult imagery, likely referencing the sanctuary of Kore or mystery cult practices at Cyzicus. The reverse legend naming the strategos Asclepiades and the Cyzicenes runs around the periphery of the field. The flan is chipped and irregular, with portions of the legend lost. |
