Obverse description Draped bust of the Senate personified as a youthful head facing right, depicted with characteristic flowing hair. The legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ (Sacred Senate) encircles the effigy within a dotted border. The portraiture follows the provincial Greek civic coinage convention of personifying the Roman Senate as a divine collegiate body, rendered in the local Anatolian workshop style of the mid-third century AD.
