Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, presenting a dynamic, slightly turned portrait typical of eastern provincial die-cutting. The emperor's paludamentum and armor are visible at the shoulder. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, running along the full periphery of the coin.
