Reverse description Dionysus depicted standing facing, his head turned to the left, clad in the god's traditional attire. In his right hand he holds a long thyrsus, while his left hand extends a cantharus toward a panther positioned at his feet to the left. The composition follows the standard Dionysiac iconographic scheme common to Asia Minor provincial coinage of the Severan period. The ethnic legend ΘΥΑΤΕΙΡΗΝΩΝ is distributed around the field. The reverse surface is heavily patinated with areas of encrustation obscuring fine detail.
