| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Moesian civic coinage. The effigy displays characteristic early third-century portraiture with curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡΗΛΙ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The flan is irregular in outline, consistent with hand-struck provincial bronze production. |
