| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Commodus facing right, depicted with a long, wide beard, wearing cuirass and paludamentum, the bust shown from a rear three-quarter perspective. The obverse legend encircles the effigy in Greek characters, reading ΑΥΤο Κ Λ ΑΥΡ ΚοΜοΔϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titles.
