Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Caracalla facing right, rendered in the vigorous provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage. The laurel wreath is clearly articulated across the brow, with locks of hair visible beneath. The portrait displays the compact, youthful features associated with early issues of Caracalla's reign. The circular Greek legend runs around the periphery of the field, bordered by a dotted rim.
