| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, depicted from behind, with the radiate crown rendered in bold relief and the paludamentum and scale armour visible across the shoulder. The portrait conveys the vigorous, martial character typical of Caracallan provincial coinage from Bithynia. A Greek legend encircles the effigy along the border of the flan. The coin is struck on an irregular flan with a dark green-brown patina consistent with extended burial. |

| Reverse description | The serpent god Glykon, depicted as a large coiled serpent with a human head and flowing hair, occupies the central field, its body forming multiple loops. The creature faces right, with the distinctive anthropomorphic head clearly rendered at the apex of the coils, referencing the celebrated cult of Glykon associated with the prophet Alexander of Abonutichus, which spread widely across Bithynia during the Antonine and Severan periods. The encircling Greek legend reads in full around the periphery, identifying Nicomedia's twice-neocorate status. The coin displays a dotted border. |
