| Obverse description | Laureate head of Caracalla facing right, with youthful portrait rendered in the provincial style. The emperor's effigy displays characteristic curly hair beneath the radiate crown, with strong facial features typical of early Severan portraiture. The obverse legend in Greek characters encircles the bust, reading ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ΑΥΓΟΥϹΤΟϹ, identifying the emperor as Antoninus Augustus. The die engraving is bold, consistent with Bithynian civic mint production of the early third century AD. |
