Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Caracalla facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Phrygian mints. The emperor's effigy displays the youthful features associated with his earlier reign, with the laurel wreath clearly articulated across the brow. A dotted border encircles the field. The Greek legend ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ΑΥΓΟΥϹΤΟϹ runs around the periphery, identifying the emperor by his dynastic name Antoninus Augustus.
