Reverse description A maenad, depicted in dynamic pose, seated to the left upon a leaping panther that bounds to the right, the composition evoking Dionysiac iconography characteristic of Pontic civic coinage. The maenad holds an uncertain object, possibly a thyrsos or kantharos, in her extended hand. The scene is framed by a circular Greek ethnic legend in the periphery. The reverse flan is irregular with heavy surface corrosion and a small hole pierced through the upper right field.
