Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style with naturalistic portraiture and boldly modelled facial features. The emperor's hair is shown in short curling locks beneath the laurel wreath, and the drapery is visible over the left shoulder. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, reading the full imperial titulature of Trajan, including his epithets as Autocrator, Caesar, Nerva, Aristos, Sebastos, Germanicus, Dacicus, and Parthicus. The portrait occupies the majority of the flan, with the legend running continuously along the outer border.
