| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted draped and possibly cuirassed, occupying the central field. The surrounding legend in Greek characters runs along the periphery of the flan. The die work reflects the provincial Alexandrian style of the early second century AD, with the emperor's effigy rendered in relatively high relief. Surface wear and encrustation partially obscure fine detail, rendering precise bust type uncertain. |
