Obverse description Radiate head of the deified Augustus facing right, rendered in the portrait style characteristic of early Julio-Claudian provincial coinage. A star appears in the upper field above the head, and a thunderbolt is depicted in the field to the front. The encircling Latin legend names Augustus as Divus and Pater Patriae. The flan is irregular and the relief moderate, consistent with hammered provincial bronze production.
