| Obverse description | Bare head of Alexander the Great in right profile, adorned with the Heraklean lion-skin headdress, the scalp and claws visible atop the cranium in the characteristic Lysimachean tradition. The facial features are rendered with strong, idealised relief, conveying the heroic physiognomy associated with the Macedonian king. The mane of the lion skin falls behind the neck, with claws tied across the chest. A partial dotted border is visible at the periphery of the flan. |
