Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, with characteristic thick beard and laurel wreath rendered in beaded style. The imperial effigy is depicted in the local provincial tradition, with broad facial features and visible cuirass at the truncation. A partially legible Greek legend surrounds the portrait, abbreviated in the customary provincial formula for the emperor's titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical patination consistent with Arabian provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period.
