Reverse description Nike, the winged goddess of victory, shown advancing to the left in full stride, rendered in flowing drapery with wings spread. She extends her right hand forward bearing a wreath and carries a tall palm branch in her left hand, both attributes emblematic of victory and triumph. The figure is rendered in a provincial Hellenistic style typical of Coan civic bronzes under the Severan dynasty. The encircling Greek inscription naming the city of the Coans and the presiding archon Menekrates frames the type in the field.
