Reverse description Cybele, the Phrygian mother goddess, is depicted enthroned and seated to the left, holding a patera in her outstretched right hand and resting her left arm on a tympanum. A lion, her sacred animal, is shown at her side. The composition reflects the strong local veneration of Cybele in Phrygia, where Cotiaeum was situated. The Greek civic legend fills the field around the central type.
