| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, displaying the elaborate musculature of the cuirass. The effigy is presented with characteristic youthful features consistent with Caracalla's early portraiture during the reign of Septimius Severus. A circular Greek legend frames the bust in the field. The die work reflects the provincial engraving style typical of the Troad region under the Severan dynasty. |
