| Obverse description | Draped bust of Plautilla facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and rendered in fine detail. The effigy is depicted in the provincial style characteristic of Moesian civic coinage of the Severan period. The Greek legend ΦOYΛ ΠΛAYTIΛΛA CEB encircles the bust, identifying the empress as Fulvia Plautilla Augusta. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial bronze production. |
