| Obverse lettering | ΔΗΜΟϹ ΒΛΑΥΝΔΕΩΝ (Δs with long serifs) |
| Reverse description | The river-god Hippourios reclines to the left in the conventional type of semi-nude river deity, his weight supported on a water-urn from which a stream flows. He holds a long reed in his extended right hand and a cornucopia in his left arm. The figure is rendered in the naturalistic Hellenistic tradition typical of Lydian provincial bronzes of the Antonine period. The legend ΙΠΠΟΥΡΙΟϹ ΒΛΑΥΝΔΕΩΝ ΜΑΚΕ(Δ) is disposed around the field, the delta letters again exhibiting the distinctive long-serif form characteristic of this issue. |
