Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder, rendered in the characteristic Antonine style with a full beard and curled hair. The effigy displays the emperor's mature portrait with deeply modelled facial features. The surrounding field is heavily patinated, and the encircling legend, though partially worn, runs along the periphery of the flan.
