Reverse description Neptune (Poseidon) depicted seated to the left upon a rocky throne or bench, his nude or semi-draped figure rendered in a classical style befitting the patron deity of the sea. In his extended right hand he holds a dolphin, and in his left hand a long trident, the traditional attributes of the god. The colonial legend appears in the field around the deity, referencing the Roman colony of Corinth. The overall composition reflects the strong Greco-Roman religious iconography standard for provincial bronzes of Achaea under the Antonines.
