| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy occupies the central field, surrounded by a Greek legend disposed around the periphery. A post-antique suspension hole is present at the top of the flan, partially intruding upon the legend. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show considerable wear and encrustation consistent with prolonged circulation and burial. |
