Reverse description Pallas Athena, patron deity of Corinth, depicted standing to the left in a static, frontal composition. In her extended right hand she holds a figure of Victory (Nike), while her left hand rests upon a grounded spear. An owl, the sacred bird of Athena and symbol of wisdom, is shown to the left of the figure, and a round shield appears to the right. The colonial mint legend occupies the field, affirming the status of Corinth as a Roman colony.
