| Reverse description | Reverse type consists entirely of a multi-line Greek honorific inscription arranged in five or six horizontal lines across the field, enclosed within a laurel wreath tied at the base. The wreath border frames the epigraphic legend, which records the name and titles of the presiding magistrate Publius Aelius Artemidoros, his office as asiarch, and the civic status of Cyzicus as a neocorate city. No figural imagery is present; the design is purely epigraphic in character, a type well attested in the civic bronze coinage of the Conventus of Cyzicus under the Severan and Gordian dynasties. |
