Reverse description Theos Megas — the Great God, identified with the local Odessan deity — depicted standing facing, head turned to the left, holding a cornucopia in one arm and extending a patera over a lighted altar at his side. The figure is rendered in a frontal hieratic pose typical of provincial Moesian coinage of the Severan period. The city ethnic legend appears in the field surrounding the divine figure. The overall composition reflects the syncretic religious character of Odessos, where the local Great God was prominently venerated.
