Reverse description Tyche of the city of Edessa enthroned on a rocky eminence, seated to the left, holding corn ears in her extended right hand. At her feet stands a lighted altar. In the exergue, a river god — representing the Daisan (Skirtos) river — swims to the left, personifying the local waterway of Edessa. The composition follows the well-established iconographic tradition of civic Tyche types for Mesopotamian provincial coinage of the Severan period, with the city legend ΜΑΚ ΑΥΡ ΕΔΕϹϹ disposed in the field.
