Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Commodus facing right, depicted with characteristic youthful features and a wreath of laurel leaves encircling the head. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Carian civic coinage. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait in the field, reading ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙϹ Μ ΑΥΡ ΚΟΜΟΔΟϹ, with alpha characters bearing a distinctive curved crossbar. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hammered provincial bronze production of the late 2nd century AD.
