Reverse description An agonistic table depicted in three-quarter perspective, upon which rests a pine wreath, the prize of the Isthmian Games held at Corinth. Atop or beside the table stands a statuette of Melikertes-Palaimon, the divine hero of the Isthmian Games, shown recumbent on the back of a dolphin. Beneath the table, an amphora is flanked on either side by pine branches, further emphasizing the Isthmian Games iconography and the sacred grove of Poseidon at Isthmia. The reverse composition is a well-attested type for Corinthian colonial bronze coinage of the Antonine period.
