Obverse description Bare head of Antoninus Pius facing right, with slight traces of drapery visible at the truncation of the neck, rendered in a naturalistic provincial style. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic full beard and broad facial features. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The die work is consistent with the civic coinage of Amastris during the Antonine period.
