| Reverse description | Standing nude figure of Hercules (Heracles) facing right, his weight shifted onto his right leg in a relaxed contrapposto stance. His right arm rests on his hip, while his left arm leans upon his club, which is draped with the Nemean lion's skin and set upon a small rectangular base. The composition reflects the Hellenistic iconographic tradition of Heracles at rest, a type particularly favoured in Corinthian provincial coinage. The colonial abbreviation legend is distributed across the reverse field. |
