| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The emperor's portrait displays his characteristic full beard and laurel wreath, with paludamentum visible at the truncation. The Greek legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan, partially visible on the worn surface. The die work reflects the competent but informal craftsmanship characteristic of mid-second century Nicaean bronze issues. |
