Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, with short beard rendered in fine detail typical of Antonine provincial portraiture. The emperor's effigy is set within a beaded border, with the Greek imperial titulature legend distributed around the periphery. The portrait displays the characteristic mature features of the emperor, including a slightly furrowed brow and well-defined jawline. The drapery visible at the shoulder truncation suggests a paludamentum or cuirass beneath. The overall style reflects the skilled hand of a Phrygian provincial die-cutter working within the conventions of the eastern Roman imperial mint tradition.
