| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style with coarse but vigorous die-cutting. The portrait displays characteristic features of the Flavian emperor, including a broad forehead and strong jaw. The circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, naming the Cotiaeans as the dedicants honouring Vespasian Caesar. The flan is slightly irregular in outline, as is typical of Phrygian provincial bronze coinage of this period. |

| Reverse description | Dionysus standing left, holding a cantharus (wine cup) in his outstretched right hand and a thyrsus (staff tipped with a pine cone) in his left. To the left of the deity, a panther crouches or stands at his feet, an attribute closely associated with the god's cult. To the right, a grapevine winds around a column, evoking Dionysus's dominion over viticulture. The Greek magistrate legend occupies the field, recording the name of the local official under whose authority the coin was struck. |
