Reverse description The syncretic deity Sarapis (Serapis) is enthroned in left-facing profile, seated upon an ornate throne or chair with a high backrest, visible at right. He wears the characteristic modius (kalathos) atop his head and is depicted with a full beard. In his extended right hand he holds a patera, while his left hand rests upon a tall sceptre. The civic legend ΚΙΑΝΩΝ appears in the field, attributing the issue to the city of Cius.
