Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style with characteristic bold relief. The laureate wreath is depicted in fine detail encircling the imperial head. A beaded border runs along the coin's periphery. The legend is disposed around the bust in Greek characters. The portrait displays the strong, idealized features typical of Trajanic imperial iconography as adapted for Egyptian provincial coinage.

Reverse description The Agathodaemon, the sacred serpent-deity of Alexandria, depicted erect and rearing to the right, crowned with the double Egyptian crown (skhent). The serpent's coils enfold a caduceus and a stalk of grain (corn), emblems of commerce, prosperity, and fertility respectively. The design reflects the syncretism of Greco-Roman and Egyptian religious symbolism characteristic of Alexandrian civic coinage. The date regnal legend appears in the field.
