Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of the emperor Severus Alexander facing left, depicted in military attire with an eagle-tipped sceptre resting on the right shoulder and a decorated oval shield visible from the front. The effigy is rendered in high relief typical of provincial bronze coinage. The obverse legend, disposed around the bust, reads ΑΥΤ Κ Μ Α ϹΕ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his Augustan titulature in Greek script.
