Reverse description Three leafless, stylized branches or palm-like sprigs rising from a latticed or reticulated enclosure, likely representing a sacred garden or temenos. On either side of the central branches, atop or flanking the enclosure, stands an altar. The composition is a distinctive civic type associated with the sanctuary cult at Aphrodisias. The reverse legend, partially incorporating a reversed zeta (Ζ), identifies the magistrate responsible for the issue and the issuing city of the Aphrodisians.
