| Obverse description | Bare-necked laureate head of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style with softly modelled features. The peripheral Greek legend surrounds the imperial effigy, reading clockwise from upper left. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, consistent with a circulated Alexandrian bronze tetradrachm-series issue of the period. |
