Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, depicted in the conventional Roman imperial portrait style. The emperor's effigy is rendered with his characteristic short beard and laureate wreath. The circular Greek legend surrounding the bust reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his Antonine name. The surface carries a dark green patina consistent with extended burial, with some areas of encrustation obscuring fine detail.
