Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, presented in three-quarter rear view, with the cuirass and paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage of the early third century AD. A continuous Greek legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, naming the emperor with his full titulature. The flan is irregular and the surface shows green patination consistent with long burial.
